There's always a part of me that rejoices in it being Friday, even though I know my weekends don't exist anymore, and I won't necessarily get any more sleep tonight than I get any other night of the week. BUT, it's still Friday, and people seem to be happier and in better moods. Even though I'm sleep deprived to the point of tears, I will rejoice because we are guaranteed a full night's sleep tonight (thanks, Mom!).
Last week I sat down a couple times and read through our German book with A. Did any of you download the "Parenting Auf Deutsch" I mentioned in a previous post? If not, check it out here! It seemed funny to read through it at first (my German still sounds a little awkward) but Daddy & A seemed to enjoy it! If someone else in your family speaks German, or is interested in learning, reading through this book is a fun way to get them involved too!
I was also on a mad search to find something that I can watch with A that's in German. Despite my being adamant that I didn't want A watching TV, she loves it, and anything bright and moving catches her attention. So why not find something that she will be interested in, that will benefit - and educate - her too? If you're with me, check out these videos I found on YouTube!

I love "Rosa Goes to the City!" A was really in to watching this one, because we have already recognized her growing love of elephants! So, how perfect!?
This is another fun one! "The Greatest Treasure" is about a boy who decides to go on a treasure hunt, and meets a few friends along the way! The subtitles in both these videos are great, especially if you are an audio AND visual learner!
This one doesn't have any subtitles, but it makes me laugh! I don't understand all of the video (unless my hubby is sitting nearby to translate), but I "Das ist ein Buch" means "This is a book." What I took away from the video (which, by the way, is based on a book written by Lane Smith) is that these two animals are talking to each other, and the donkey (is it?) asks the monkey a series of questions about the book. Things like, can you type on it? Can it make this noise? Etc. The monkey continues to reply with, "Nein, Das ist ein buch (no, this is a book)." I'm interested to see if I can find the book, and at what cost.
